The real name of the individual known as "Fujiko Fujio" is Motoo Abiko, whose full name is Motoo Abiko 安孫子素雄. Prior to their separation in 1987, Motoo Abiko and Hiroshi Fujimoto wrote together under the joint pen name "Fujiko Fujio." Afterwards, Motoo continued using the same pseudonym while Hiroshi adopted a new one: "Fujiko F. Fujio".
