Nagai Go is a Japanese manga artist and writer known for his work in science fiction, fantasy, horror, and erotica genres. He began his professional career in 1967 with Meakashi Polikichi but gained fame for creating Cutie Honey, Devilman, and Mazinger Z. Nagai also pioneered the ecchi genre through Harenchi Gakuen and is credited with developing the Super Robot genre and designing the first mecha robots piloted by a user from within a cockpit with Mazinger Z. In 2005, he became a professor of Character Design at Osaka University of Arts, and since then has been a member of the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prizes nominating committee.
