Adam is an experienced professional actor and movement specialist with 20 years of experience performing in New York City as well as regionally across the United States and abroad. He holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.F.A. from the University of Washington in Seattle. Adam has studied extensively with Steve Pearson and Robyn Hunt of Pacific Performance Project/east, who have worked with Tadashi Suzuki's company for nearly 15 years before bringing their own "Physical Approaches to Performance" to the United States.
Adam has had the opportunity to work with and learn from amazing actors and movement artists such as Seydulla Molkakhanov, Boris Gafurov of Ilkhom Theatre of Mark Weil in Uzbekistan, Le Vu Long of Together Higher in Vietnam, Sergei Ostrenko of Ukraine, Paata Tsikurishvili and Irina Tsikurishvili of Synetic Theater in Washington, DC, among others. He has worked with numerous companies including The Public Theater, Lincoln Center Directors Lab, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Opera Carolina, Seattle Repertory Theatre, The Actor's Playground, The Ilkhom Theatre of Mark Weil, P.S. 122, Opera Omaha, Julliard, The Jacobs School, Island Stage Left, Cardinal Stage Company, Seattle Opera, Indiana Festival Theatre, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and the Dayton Opera.
Adam is the co-founder and artistic director of Dynamic Presence Project, a company focused on revitalizing and proliferating movement theatre and physical storytelling. As a freelance movement consultant, Adam has helped shape, build ensemble, and construct movement vocabularies for operatic, cinematic, and theatrical projects. He has taught movement at Indiana University, California State University of Fresno, and the University of Washington.
Adam is also a member of Actors Equity Association, a Certified Teacher with Society of American Fight Directors, and Treasurer for the Association of Theatre Movement Educators. Adam is trained in stunt work and has taught movement and stage combat both nationally and internationally. He has choreographed violence for over 100 stage and film productions.
