In November 1998, there was a double homicide at Ogawa apartment complex in the center of Mifune City. The killer, Tomoe Enjou, escaped after committing the crime. Despite this, he wasn't pursued by police and no news about it was reported through media outlets. After Shiki Ryougi defended him from some thugs, she allowed him to use her residence as a hideout. However, Tomoe was shocked when he discovered that his mother was still alive, even though he believed he had killed her. Meanwhile, Mikiya Kokutou was investigating a tip about the murder at Ogawa complex, which Touko Aozaki received from her associate. As he dug deeper into the case, Mikiya became interested in Tomoe and decided to investigate him further. He discovered that there were some disturbing things happening in Ogawa complex, which led him to uncover a dark truth about it. The fifth installment of Kara no Kyoukai film series is called Mujun Rasen, which combines an intricate mystery with established characters and themes to create a thought-provoking story.
