Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners

A teenager with the supernatural ability to see death and kill objects by destroying their origins has recently awakened from a two-year coma caused by a traffic accident. Before the accident, she had two personalities - male named Shiki (織) and female named Shiki (式). Children in the Ryōgi family are usually raised with two personalities; the male is called "yang" while the female is known as "yin". It's easy to differentiate between them because they speak differently, with the female using "watashi" (私) and the male referring to himself as "ore" (オレ). After waking up, Shiki realizes she can no longer sense the presence of the male Shiki and assumes he has died due to the accident. She also feels disconnected from her memories before the incident and although she knows she is Shiki, she doesn't feel like it. To try and regain herself and the "dead" Shiki, she adopts a cold demeanor similar to the male Shiki and attempts to act as the female Shiki used to. Tōko recognizes this detachment in Shiki but considers her a new personality.

Del Rey Manga announced in 2009 that they would be releasing the Kara no Kyoukai novels in English. However, the publisher went defunct before this could happen. The series has been published in Polish by Kotori since in April 2017.
