In February 1999, a series of murders has put Shiki Ryougi and Mikiya Kokutou on high alert. These crimes bear an eerie resemblance to a similar set of homicides from 1995, when Shiki and Mikiya first crossed paths, and awakened a dark, murderous desire that had been dormant within Shikis soul ever since then. With Shiki being suspected of involvement in the past killings and bearing an uncanny resemblance to the killer, she and Mikiya embark on separate investigations to find the true perpetrator. As they delve deeper into their respective probes, Mikiya grows increasingly worried about Shikis well-being and rushes to identify the one responsible in order to safeguard her from giving in to her own impulses. With the lead he receives from his cousin, police investigator Daisuke Akimi, Mikiya is drawn into the seedy underbelly of Mifune City, where Shikis salvation lies in his unwavering determination to prove her innocence once and for all.
