Secrets of Akko-chan

Atsuko "Akko-chan" Kagami, who goes by different names in Western adaptations such as "Stilly," "Caroline," or "Julie," is a lively elementary school student with an affinity for mirrors. When her cherished mirror, given to her by her mother (or father, depending on the version), gets broken, Akko-chan decides to bury it in her yard instead of throwing it away. In her dreams, she encounters a spirit or the Queen of the Mirror Kingdom who is touched by her respectful treatment of the mirror and rewards her with a magical mirror and enchantment that allows her to transform into anything she desires.
