In 1939, earth faced imminent destruction at the hands of an alien race known as the neuroi. equipped with devastating weapons, they invaded the planet and destroyed countries, leaving human armies vanquished. to counter this threat, the world's powers united to produce a device called the striker unit. girls equipped with these units became known as witches, forming humanity's last line of defense against the neuroi. in 1944, yoshika miyafuji, a young teenage girl, decided to join the 501st joint fighter wing, or "strike witches." despite having no formal training, can she learn to work with her fellow strike witches and save humanity from the neuroi invasion?
