In Asagaya, there resides a man named Hiroto Ikuta, who is 29 years old. He works part-time and enjoys conversing with the locals. Among them is Granny Wada, a grumpy yet kind elderly woman whom he nicknames "Granny." Although his time with her is cut short when she passes away from a heart attack, he inherits her house as she had no spouse or offspring. Three months later, Natsumi Kobayashi arrives from her hometown to attend art school. Since she has nowhere else to stay, she stays with her cousin Hiroto, whom she hasn't seen in years. Despite their contrasting personalities, they adapt to living together as they navigate their monotonous lives.
