After triumphing against al-thamen in sindria, aladdin and his companions part ways. hakuryuu and kougyoku are dispatched back to their homeland, the kou empire. meanwhile, aladdin declares he must journey to magnostadt, a land governed by sorcerers, to probe into enigmatic occurrences there and hone his magical abilities. inspired by aladdins words, alibaba and morgiana also set forth on their respective quests: honing their skills and returning home, respectively. the narrative of magi: the kingdom of magic follows these friends as they pursue their individual journeys, each confronting unique challenges. however, a looming threat emerges as a great war threatens to engulf the horizon.

Episodes 1 and 2 were previewed at a screening in Tokyo on September 22, 2013. Regular broadcasting began on October 6, 2013.
