Since childhood, Haruka Sakura faced discrimination because of his appearance and social skills. However, this mistreatment molded him into a skilled fighter, which is now all he takes pride in. At Furin High School, where strength is highly valued over academics, Sakura aims to become the top student. On his first day at school, he gets into a fight with some of his classmates. To his surprise, instead of rejecting him, they join in and fight alongside him. This group of students calls themselves "Bofurin," and they are dedicated to protecting their town of Makochi from harm. Despite being unfamiliar with kindness being shown to him, Sakura must learn to embrace it when Bofurin faces formidable enemies. Through this experience, he discovers that he can fight for others for the first time.
