In a world where magical dangers pose a constant threat, there are specialized warriors known as Inquisitors who have been tasked with preventing such threats from occurring. The Anti-Magic Academy is a school that exists specifically for the purpose of educating and training these Inquisitors. To ensure they receive the best possible education, students at this academy are divided into small squads to work together in order to hone their skills. One such squad is the 35th Test Platoon, also known as the "Small Fry Platoon" due to its low ranking and less-than-ideal members. However, everything changes when Ouka Ootori, a powerful yet rebellious former Inquisitor, is forced to join this squad due to her tendency to break rules and commit a serious violation: killing a witch. This immediately causes tension within the group as Ouka clashes with their clumsy captain Takeru Kusanagi and argues with her fellow squad members over her views on witches. Despite these differences, this diverse team must work together in order to succeed at the Anti-Magic Academy and climb the ranks.

Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai adapts the first 5 novels of Touki Yanagimis light novel series of the same name, as well as content from the Another Mission side story series.
