Following the Heath Oslo incident, information about the US-Japanese anti-terror organization CIRS has become public knowledge. After being rebuilt from scratch, some of its covert functions were spun off to a new agency called SORD (Social Ops, Research & Development). The goal of SORD is to train a new generation of operatives to defend the country against future threats. To achieve this, they have established schools across the nation. Mihama Academy, which had been left to rot after its sudden closure, has been given a new purpose as one such specialist training school.
Now, Mihama Academy is home to a diverse group of students who work every day to hone their unique skills, sometimes on the job. The academy entrusts these misfit girls with guns and live ammunition, despite paying no regard to their own safety. These students are repeatedly plunged into dangerous extrajudicial missions for the good of the realm.
The protagonist reflects on her situation, stating that having a place in the world is not enough; there must be more meaning to life than simply being used by others. She lives by her strength and fights to survive, finding forgiveness only through her own efforts. Despite facing adversity, these girls have chosen the path of the gun, wondering what their future holds.
