Hole-a dark and disordered region where strong individuals prey on weak ones and death is commonplace-lives up to its name. It's an area outside of laws and morals, serving as a testing ground for magic users who dominate it. As the most powerful group in society, they view Hole's inhabitants as insignificant insects, often murdering, mutilating, and experimenting on them without remorse. Daily, the powerless dwellers of Holes hospital end up dead or injured. Magic users have unrestricted access to and from Hole with little opposition. However, a few individuals challenge their authority, such as Kaiman, who is more reptile than man. Driven by his quest for answers, he uses only two bayonets and his immunity to magic. His cursed appearance torments him, while Nikaidou, the owner of Hungry Bug restaurant, supports him despite her own struggles with nightmares. Dorohedoro combines elements of comedy and lightheartedness with death and violence in a gritty world of hellish design. The series follows the lives of Hole's residents, taking unexpected turns and revealing an otherworldly origin and gloomy atmosphere not for the faint-hearted or easily disturbed.
