In 2089, 80 years have passed since Space War I affected both human and Zentraedi races. Both species are now living peacefully on Earth when an alien race known as the "Marduk" emerges within our Solar System. During the first battle between the U.N. Spacy and the Marduk fleet, a rookie reporter named Hibiki Kanzaki from SNN discovers Ishtar, an "Emulator" that enhances the combat abilities of the Marduks through singing. Hibiki decides to bring Ishtar to Earth to teach her about human values and culture. Along with ace Valkyrie pilot Silvie Gena, Hibiki and Ishtar work together to prevent Earth from being destroyed by the leader of the Marduk race, Ingues.
