It appears that when Lum was born, there was a mix-up with the postal service which led to one of the family's witch friends not receiving an invitation to the celebration. As a result, the witch put a curse on Lum, stating that she would never find true love. Currently, a new amusement park has opened in Tomobiki and everyone is enjoying its attractions. On opening day, Ataru was turned into a large pink hippopotamus during a magic show. When Lum tries to locate the magician responsible for transforming her beloved, things take an unexpected turn very quickly.
