As a child, Mamiya Sakura vanished into thin air while playing near her grandmothers house. Since then, she has been able to see ghosts everywhere she goes, at home, school, and even on the street. Now in high school, another strange event has occurred - an empty desk next to hers was suddenly occupied by a peculiar boy named Rokudou Rinne. Despite his odd attire, Rinne possesses the same ability as Sakura to perceive spirits. Sometimes, people around him are unable to see him at all. What is Rinne hiding, and how does he relate to Sakuras unique gift? In Kyoukai no Rinne, an alternate reality coexists with our own. Through Rinne's help, Sakura will explore this world and encounter its eccentric inhabitants.
