Tsubasa comes from a family of exorcists and enrolled at Sakura's high school in chapter 19. Like Sakura, he has the ability to see ghosts but instead of trying to calm them down, he brutally attacks them with "sacred ashes." This can turn these spirits into evil ones. Tsubasa first met Sakura when they were younger and developed feelings for her after realizing she could also see ghosts. Since joining Sakura's school, he has tried numerous times to win her affection while being jealous of the time she spends with Rinne. He begins accompanying them on their ghost-hunting missions. After doing so, Tsubasa realizes that not all spirits are evil and becomes more lenient towards some. He tends to jump to conclusions, especially when it comes to Sakura's relationship with Rinne. There is a hint that he may be Christian.
