As a child, Sakura Mamiya vanished inexplicably from behind her grandmother's house. Despite returning unharmed, she gained the ability to perceive spirits. Currently, as a teenager, she wishes for these supernatural entities to cease disturbing her. At school, Sakuras desk has remained vacant since the beginning of the academic year. Then, on a particular day, her absent classmate unexpectedly reappeared, revealing himself to be far more than he initially appeared!

Kyoukai no Rinne has been published in English as RIN-NE by VIZ Media under the Shonen Sunday imprint since October 20, 2009, and in Spanish by Planeta Cómic since March 22, 2011.
