Maria is a Chasseur who believes that all vampires are evil due to her faith's bias. She has devoted her life to eradicating them. Recently, she began working with Roland Fortis at the Parisian branch of the Chasseurs. While hunting Vanitas and his accomplice Noé Archiviste in the catacombs beneath Notre Dame, Maria and her colleague Georges found Roland being berated by someone. They worked together to resolve the issue and continued their mission to hunt Vanitas and Noé. However, unexpectedly, both factions agreed to work together to find Moreau, who had been kidnapping vampires for experiments.
