The Blue Moon's Child of Ill Omen, Vanitas, is a legendary vampire who was shunned by his fellow vampires. As a result, he created the Book of Vanitas as an act of revenge, granting anyone who possesses it the power to destroy all vampires. At some point in time, Vanitas found a successor named Vantias of the Blue Moon to inherit both the name and the book.
