'Koisuru One Piece' Spinoff Anime Shorts Reveal 5 More Cast Members
Net anime shorts stream daily from April 1-5
On Monday, it was announced through the official site of the One Piece anime that five additional actors have been added to the voice acting team for the upcoming net anime series based on Daiki Ihara 's Koisuru One Piece spinoff manga.
The newly announced cast includes (pictured above from left to right):
- Akari Kitō as Sato Yoshioka
- Akira Ishida as Biology Club President
- Megumi Han as Tsuchi
- Takehito Koyasu as Toriko Kurono
Mahito Ōba will play the Narrator.
From April 1st to 5th, at 8:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. EDT), new episodes of the shorts series will be released on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok every day.
The anime will star:
- Ryōsuke Kanemoto as Luffy Yamamoto
- Ayane Sakura as Nami Koyama
- Yūichi Nakamura as Usopp Nakatsugawa
The production of the anime is being led by Miki Kobayashi. Meanwhile, Yū Kamatani and Hazuki Omoya are serving as the series directors. Hanao Iida has been tasked with designing the characters for the show. Midori Tanaka has been appointed as the art director, while Emi Nakajima has been given the role of color designer. Lastly, Kōsuke Ōhori has been named as the director of photography for the production. Ayaka Shiraishi is currently overseeing production.
In June 2018, Ihara started publishing Koisuru One Piece on Shonen Jump+. However, the manga stopped its serialization in November 2021. Despite this, the ninth volume of the manga was released in April 2022. This gag manga focuses on high school students who share names with members of the Straw Hat Pirates.
In Japan, on April 5th at 9 pm JST (8 am EDT), Fuji TV will broadcast the first episode of Part 2 of the One Piece anime's Egghead arc. This episode is number 1123 overall. Along with it, there will be a recap episode of Part 1 of the Egghead arc. On April 6th at 11:15 pm JST (10:15 am EDT), Fuji TV will air the second episode of Part 2 of the Egghead arc in its new timeslot.
On April 5-6 in the US, Canada, Australia, NZ, SA, LA, Crunchyroll will air the first two chapters of Egghead arc part 2. Episode 1123 premieres on April 5th while episode 1124 streams on April 6th. Also on April 6th, they'll show an 83-minute special recap of the Egghead arc part one.
The anime series "Egghead" temporarily paused in October for a "recharge" before continuing in April 2025. Currently, "One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga" is being broadcasted as a condensed version of the "Fish-Man Island" arc of the anime, featuring enhanced scenes, refined artwork, and other enhancements.
Subaru Kimura will be the new voice of Franky.
The Egghead arc in the anime debuted in January 2024.
The ongoing anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda 's One Piece manga premiered in 1999.
