Spike Chunsoft has released a teaser video for AI: The Somnium Files - From Kōtarō Uchikoshi's series. This game is part of the AI: The Somnium Files series, which is known for its unique storytelling approach. The teaser provides a glimpse into the game's plot, giving viewers a taste of what to expect from this new entry in the series.

Like in the original show, the story revolves around Kaname Date, who possesses an artificial eye that allows him to enter dreams. His mission is to solve puzzles and find Iris, an internet idol, in an escape game.
Kazuya Yamada is in charge of writing and directing the game's storyline. Uchikoshi is back as series director and oversees the script. Yūsuke Kozaki is responsible for character design, while Keisuke Ito is in charge of composing the music. Lastly, Yasu Iizuka is producing the game.
In September 2019, The Somnium Files became available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Steam worldwide.
In Tokyo, present day, there exists a visual novel where advanced technology has been integrated into society. As Kamane Date, players embark on a mission to apprehend a peculiar murderer whose methods are both strange and gruesome. Kamane has an artificial left eye that differs from his right eye in color; this eye houses an AI that assists him in solving crimes. One of the game's central mechanics involves Date accessing the memories of suspects and crucial witnesses through "Somnium" (the Latin term for "dream").
The game "The Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative" was released for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in North America in June 2022 via Windows 10 and Steam. Originally planned for a worldwide launch in spring 2022, Spike Chunsoft delayed it in Europe and Oceania until July 2022 due to manufacturing delays and shipping slowdowns.
