Rei Yasuda performs "Hikari no Sumika" opening, Hana Hope performs "Sapphire" ending
On Thursday, Aniplex began streaming the second promotional video for Keiichirō Shibuya's 'Introduction to Mineralogy ( Ruri no Hōseki ) manga. This video included additional staff members, as well as the opening and ending theme songs. It also announced that the anime would premiere on July 6th. The opening theme song "Hikari no Sumika" (Home of Light') was previewed by artist Rei Yasuda, while Hana Hope performed the ending theme song "Sapphire".

On July 6th, the anime will be shown for the first time on the AT-X channel at 9:00 p.m. JST (8:00 a.m. EDT). Following that, it will be broadcasted on Tokyo MX channel at 9:30 p.m. JST and then on BS11 at 10:30 p.m. JST. Finally, it will be aired on ABC TV and TV Aichi on July 9th.
Studio Bind is directing the anime with Shingo Fujii at the helm. Michiko Yokote is in charge of series composition for the show. Mayu Fujii is designing the characters for the anime. Kōhei Yoshida is handling the sound direction, while Daisuke Achiwa and Kazuki Yanagawa are composing the music for the series. EGG FIRM is producing the anime.
The "science adventure" story follows high school student Ruri, a girl who loves minerals and jewelry. One day, she meets mineralogy graduate student Nagi who pulls her into the world of mineralogy.
In 2019, Shibuya started its series in Harta, which is published by Kadokawa. On September 13th, they released the fifth and last book volume of the series.
