Futari H Creator Aki Katsu's Wasurenazuma no Kimi to Manga Ends in June
Time travel romance manga launched in March 2024
On Tuesday, it was announced that Wasurenazuma no Kimi to (With You, My Forgetful Wife) manga by Aki Katsu will conclude in the next issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Big Comic Spirits magazine, which will be published on June 27th.
In the present era of the 21st century, we are introduced to Towako and Kazuki as an elderly couple. Following Towako's passing due to dementia, Kazuki feels lost without her by his side. Driven by grief, he attempts to take his own life by drowning with her corpse. However, instead of finding himself in the afterlife, he wakes up reliving his high school days in 1966. With this newfound opportunity, Kazuki aims to rebuild his relationship with Towako from scratch.
In March 2024, Katsu started the manga series in Monthly Big Comic Spirits. Shogakukan released the first book volume of the manga in November 2024, with another volume coming out on June 30, 2025.
Since 1997, Futari H, which is described as a "love bible" or "user's manual" for people in love, has been published in Young Animal and Young Animal Arashi by Katsu from Psychic Academy and The Vision of Escaflowne. In November 2024, Hakusensha released the manga's 92nd compiled book volume.
In November 2018, Katsu released a new manga series called "Futari H Another" under the label "Harem" on Hakusensha's website for manga that features multiple love interests.
In 2002 and 2014, two unique video anime (OVA) series were created based on the inspiration from the Futari H manga. Additionally, there was a live-action version in 2000, as well as three live-action films from 2011 to 2012. More recently, in April and May of 2019, two additional live-action film adaptations were released.
TokyoPop released North American versions of Katsu's The Vision of Escaflowne, Psychic Academy, and Manga Sutra in North America. Media Blasters licensed and released the 2002 Futari H OAV series on DVD in North America as Step Up Love Story.
In 2018, Shogakukan published "e Big Comic 4" featuring "Katsu Launched the 3 Partner Hajimemashita!!," which started a threesome series. Seven Seas later licensed this series for English publication in March 2023.
