Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc Anime Reveals Kenshi Yonezu's Theme Song in Trailer
Film opens in U.S., U.K. on October 29
At Anime Expo on Thursday, the Chainsaw Man movie based on Tatsuki Fujimoto's Reze Arc was showcased with a new trailer and theme song information. Kenshi Yonezu will be performing "IRIS OUT," which is the film's theme song.
SPE has bought global cinema distribution for the movie. It will launch the movie in US and UK cinemas on October 29th, while simultaneously releasing it earlier in over 80 countries on September 24th.
The film will open in Japan on September 19.
Reina Ueda plays Reze in the film.
MAPPA describes the film's story:
Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil's heart, and is now part of Special Division 4's devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.

In October 2022, the television anime series was launched simultaneously across multiple platforms including TV Tokyo and its affiliates, Amazon Prime Video, and Crunchyroll which is streaming it in over 200 countries worldwide.
Crunchyroll describes the story:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
On one occasion, Denji meets with treachery and loses his life. In his final moments, he forms an agreement with Pochita that results in him being resurrected as "Chainsaw Man," a being imbued with a malevolent spirit.
In December 2018, Fujimoto introduced the Chainsaw Man manga in Weekly Shonen Jump. This manga concluded its first part, known as "Kōan" (Public Safety), in December 2020. Following that, the second part of the series, titled "Gakkō-hen" (School Arc), began on Shueisha 's Shonen Jump+ service in July 2022. For three consecutive years, from 2019 to 2021, this manga was recognized as the best at The Harvey Awards.
In September to October 2023, a stage play adaptation of a manga was performed in both Tokyo and Kyoto.
The MAPPA panel displayed images of artworks from JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death - The Movie as well as a video from Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill anime that showcased how they animated Bloody Horn-Bull and Orc General Hamburger from Season 1 Episode 11 of JUJUTSU KAISEN.
