Matenrou comedy duo member Antony plays "live-action Jel" in scene in film




The trailer for the anime film adaptation of Jel 's Toi-san short video series has been released on Saturday through the official website of Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! "Baka to SmaPho to Romance to". In the trailer, we can see the characters being highlighted as well as a short live-action scene featuring Antony playing "live-action Jel ".

The film will open on July 18.

In this movie, Jel portrays both his character and that of Akane Toi. Along with him are other actors who bring their own unique interpretations to their roles.

Mankyū ( Pui Pui Molcar the Movie: MOLMAX , Sumikkogurashi – Good to be in the corner , The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors ) is directing the film at Seven Arcs , and Yoichi Kato ( Aikatsu! , You and Idol Precure♪ , Mashin Sōzōden Wataru ) co-wrote the script with Jel . Akemi Kobayashi Chi's Sweet Home , ( Love After World Domination ) diesgned the characters. The music is credited to STPR MUSIC and AniTone , while Hiromi Mizutani ( Non Non Biyori , Food for the Soul ) and AniTone are credited for background music .

Jel and Toi-san are singing the opening theme song titled "Meccha Tooi! featuring Jel & Toi-san." Takuya Koyama from Yabai T-shirts-ya-san wrote both the lyrics and music for this song. On the other hand, Strawberry Prince members are performing the ending theme song titled "Mirai no Kimi kara Daijōbu!" (The Future You Will Be Fine).

In Japan, Shochiku will release the movie. Jel has contributed to various aspects of the project, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, character design, and voice acting. STPR and Dentsu are part of the production team for the movie. Additionally, Nana Mori from Strawberry Prince leader's entertainment persona is responsible for planning and serves as executive producer for the movie.

In April 2019, the Toi-san comedy video series was introduced through a Twitter post featuring X. Since then, there have been over 1,000 videos in this series, which have received more than 10 billion views combined across YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms. This school comedy series revolves around Akane Toi, a high school student who meets her handsome classmate Jel on her first day at school.

The Toi-san franchise also includes an official English study book and a novel.

Anime adaption of the popular boy group Strawberry Prince has been released as a movie in Japan on July 19th, 2024. Members of the group also lent their voices for the movie's voice cast.

Since their formation in 2016, this band has gained traction through their videos available on streaming platforms. This led to the creation of a mobile game based on them, as well as regular concert tours that expanded from one arena to five across the country. In December of 2023, they made their debut performance on Kōhaku Uta Gassen, one of Japan's most popular music television programs.

The Strawberry Prince sang popular tunes in both the Yo-kai Academy series "Y: N to no Sōgū" (Yo-Kai Academy Y: An Encounter With N) and the "Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress" anime. Additionally, members of this group contributed their voices to characters in the "Yo-Kai Academy" series.
