In a near-future Japan, Christmas has faded into myth, and the birth rate has dropped so dramatically that children are now the most precious commodity. Society has artificially extended adolescence to preserve their youth, and traditional holidays, like Christmas, are a mere legend of the past.
In Sanda volume one, we meet Sanda Kazushige, a student in middle school who finds himself in a mysterious situation. His classmate Fuyumura Shiori accuses him of having a curse that can help locate her missing friend Ono Ichie. This leads Sanda on an incredible journey with Fuyumura to solve the mystery behind Ichie's disappearance and discover the enchanting magic of Christmas.
The two individuals encounter difficulties both from outside sources and within themselves as they explore the enigma. They must grapple with issues of loyalty, bravery, and faith in their quest for understanding. In their journey, they also encounter the essence of companionship, trustworthiness, and the potential for wonder in a world that has largely abandoned it.
