    Paru started painting in kindergarten and began drawing manga in second grade. She went on to study filmmaking at Musashino Art University. Her early artistic influences were inspired by Disney films, Nicolas de Crécy, and Egon Schiele. Keisuke Itagaki is her father and a renowned manga artist.
