Bushiroad Releases Statement After Company, Voice Actress Amane Shindō Receive Threats
Statement comes after rumors started circulating on Thursday alleging Shindō cheated on her partner
On Friday, Bushiroad issued a statement saying that rumors about voice actress Amane Shindō were baseless, after she became the target of recent online threats.
On Thursday, there were reports of threats made against both Shindō and Bushiroad due to false rumors about Shindō's personal life being spread on social media. Bushiroad confirmed with Shindō and other concerned parties that these rumors were entirely baseless.
Bushiroad stated that although unauthorized disclosure of personal data for voice actors and celebrities beyond reasonable bounds is a significant concern, they chose to address this matter because the rumors led to threats. They have consulted their legal team and reported the incident to investigative agencies, and are considering filing civil or criminal charges. Additionally, they requested readers not to believe or spread false information.
On Thursday, there were reports on X (formerly Twitter ) from an account that alleged that Shindō was cheating on her partner. These reports claimed that Shindō's partner had hired a detective to investigate possible infidelity, and that the detective had discovered evidence of infidelity. Although Bushiroad did not confirm these reports, they have been circulating on X/ Twitter with over 56 million views as of press time.
