Series launched in January 2024
On Thursday, the final chapter of Gamon Sakurai's manga series "The Pool" was released in the September issue of Kodansha's "Good! Afternoon" magazine.
This is a sci-fi tale about a group of soldiers in outer space, their commander, and the frightening beings they come across during their mission.
Sakurai launched the series in January 2024.
In 2021, Sakurai concluded his work on the Ajin - Demi-Human manga series that he began publishing in Kodansha 's Good! Afternoon magazine in 2012. Kodansha released the final compiled book volume of the series in Japan in May of that year. Both Vertical Comics and Kodansha USA Publishing have released the series in English. Crunchyroll has been posting new chapters of the series as they are published in Japan by Kodansha.
In Japan, the initial airing of the TV anime version of the manga occurred in January 2015 with 13 episodes. Following this, Netflix made new episodes available three days after their Japanese TV debut. Outside Japan, Netflix started streaming the entire first season in April 2016. Subsequently, the second season was launched in Japan in October 2016, with Netflix releasing it for streaming in December 2016.
In addition to being adapted into a 2015-2016 3D CG anime film trilogy, the manga was also turned into three OVA releases that were included with volumes eight through ten of the manga from 2015 through 2017.
Additionally, a live-action film opened in Japan in September 2017.
