On Tuesday, Aniplex announced that they would be releasing the second promotional video for the television anime adaptation of Shabake by Megumi Hatakenaka. This video includes new information such as the release date of October 3rd, as well as additional cast members. Additionally, it previews the ending theme song "Myaku-Myaku" (Continuous) by KAFUNÉ.
The new anime series will be introduced on Fuji TV's Noitamina block at 11:30 p.m. JST (10:30 a.m. EDT) on October 3rd. It will only be available for streaming in Japan through Prime Video starting at midnight JST on October 4th. Following that, it will air on AT-X at 8:00 p.m. JST on October 7th.
Hula Fulla Dance and Malevolent Spirits: Mononogatari are being directed by Takahiro Ōkawa at BN Pictures. Tōko Machida is in charge of overseeing the series scripts. Akari Minagawa is responsible for character design as well as serving as the chief animation director alongside Shiga. Rei Ishizuka is composing the music for the series, and Kujira is performing the opening theme song "Inochi no Parade" (Parade of Life).
Since its launch in 2001, the series has produced multiple sequel novels, two live-action TV shows, manga versions, radio plays, stage plays, stage musicals, picture books, and a net anime adaptation that premiered in July 2021. While the upcoming anime adaptation will feature a different cast and crew than the previously released net anime version.
The novels have more than 10 million copies in circulation.
