Series based on Keigo Shinzō's slice-of-life manga that is also inspiring anime
On Friday, it was reported by NHK that the television adaptation of Keigo Shinzō's Hirayasumi manga will begin airing on November 3rd. Additionally, they shared a photo from the upcoming series.
Amane Okayama plays protagonist Hiroto Ikuta in the series.
In "Weathering with You" and "Insomniacs After School," Nana Mori portrays Natsumi Kobayashi, who relocated from her hometown in Tokyo to pursue her studies at an art school. Meanwhile, Riho Yoshioka assumes the role of Yomogi Tachibana in "Her Blue Sky" and "Kowloon Generic Romance," where Hiroto encounters her by happenstance.
The series is being directed by Kana Matsumoto, Ema Kawawada, and Kōji Taktasuchi, with scripts written by Yōko Yonaiyama.
NHK is going to show a live-action TV show each evening from Monday through Thursday at 10:45 p.m. (9:45 q.m. EDT) in their "Yoru Dra" (Evening Drama) program block. There are going to be 20 episodes that are each 15 minutes long during this five-week run.
Viz Media licensed the manga and began publishing it in May 2024. Viz describes the story:
At 29 years old, carefree Hiroto Ikuta doesn't have a girlfriend, a full-time job, or a plan for the future—and he couldn't be happier. Hiroto's breezy attitude isn't easy for everyone to understand, though. In a world filled with anxiety, confusion, and grief, Hiroto and the people around him are all just doing their best to figure out this thing called life.
