Shimabukuro, Katō play classmates Azuma, Taira
The " ABEMA Anime Festival 2025 supported by Comic C'moA" announced two more cast members for the television anime of Kōcha Agasawa 's romantic comedy manga You and I Are Polar Opposites ( Seihantaina Kimi to Boku ) on Saturday. The two cast members are:
Miyuri Shimabukuro as Azuma, "a mature-minded girl in Suzuki and Tani's class.
Though she comes off as jaded, she's never experienced a proper romantic relationship."
Wataru Katō as Taira, "a boy in Suzuki and Tani's class with a cynical attitude.
Lacking confidence, he often compares himself to others and ends up feeling insecure or down."
The anime will star Sayumi Suzushiro as Suzuki and Shōgo Sakata as Tani.
The other cast members include: Yuna Taniguchi as Watanabe
Konatsu Hirabayashi as Sato
Anji Iwata as Yamada
The anime will premiere in January 2026. Crunchyroll will stream the series as it airs.
At Lapin Track, Takakazu Nagatomo is overseeing the production of the anime. Teruko Utsumi, who has previously worked on Sarazanmai, is in charge of writing the scripts and also serves as the animation producer. Mako Miyako has designed the characters for this project. Naho Kozono, who has experience as both a sub-character designer and chief animation director (on Golden Kamuy), is also involved in this production. Sayumi Sakimoto has also joined as chief animation director, while Tofubeats has been tasked with composing the music for this anime.
Chieko Nakamura (Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence) leads the art department for SHOCHIKU anime. Tomoyuki Shiokawa (The Promised Neverland) serves as the compositing director of photography for SHOCHIKU anime. Yuki Akimoto (SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary) works as the color key artist for SHOCHIKU anime. Yuushi Koshida (My Happy Marriage) serves as the 3D director for SHOCHIKU anime. Masayuki Kurosawa (Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez) handles editing for SHOCHIKU anime. Wataru Osakabe (Pompo: The Cinéphile) works as the 2D design artist for SHOCHIKU anime. SHOCHIKU anime oversees the production of SHOCHIKU anime.
