Undead Unluck Anime's 1-Hour Special Reveals December 25 Air Date, More Cast
Kenshō Ono voices Tella, Takehito Koyasu voices original character Balance
On Monday, it was announced in the 48th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine published by Shueisha that there will be a one-hour special for the anime adaptation of Yoshifumi Tozuka's Undead Unluck manga airing on December 25 on MBS and TBS and their affiliates.
Two new actors have been announced for the anime adaptation of "One Piece": Kenshō Ono will voice Tella, Billy's subordinate, while Takehito Koyasu will portray Balance, an original character who maintains global equilibrium as an UMA.
Sunghoo Park from E&H production is currently serving as director for the special and handling storyboards for his studio. Yamato Haishima from Fire Force will be returning for the screenplay. Hideyuki Morioka from D.Gray-man will be collaborating with Shun'ichi Ishimoto from Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan on character design. Kenichiro Suehiro from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- will once again be composing the music for this project. UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS will be producing and planning the anime, with david production providing cooperation for the first season.

Fuuko Izumo is played by Moe Kahara, while Andy is voiced by Yūichi Nakamura. Additionally, Mariya Ise returns as Juiz, Rikiya Koyama portrays Billy, and Tomokazu Sugita provides the voice for Apocalypse in the confirmed cast for the series.
Tozuka wrote an entirely unique narrative for the special, and he created a fresh UMA creature as well.
Anime series started airing on TV in October 2023 and concluded after airing for 24 episodes in March 2024. It can be viewed on Hulu.

What happens when an unlucky girl meets an undead guy? Pure chaos!
Fuuko Izumo, who possesses the power of Unluck, is weary of unintentionally taking lives. Determined to put an end to it all, she embarks on a journey to find death. However, during this quest, she encounters Andy, an individual who yearns for death but is unable to die. Fuuko discovers that she can provide Andy with the demise he so desperately seeks. In turn, Andy offers Fuuko someone who can finally put an end to her Unluck power.
The anime was directed by Yuki Yase at david production (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure). Morioka designed the characters for animation, while Suehiro composed the music. UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS produced and planned the anime.
In January 2019, Tozuka released his manga as a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump. He then began serializing it in the magazine in January 2020. On January 27th, the serialized version of the manga ended. On April 4th, Shueisha released the final compiled book volume of the manga, which contained five epilogue chapters.
In January 2020, Viz Media started releasing the manga online, while Shueisha's MANGA Plus service also made it available digitally at the same time. Later on, in May 2021, Viz Media started printing it as well.
According to the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021 rankings for male readers, this manga was placed at number fourteen. Furthermore, it received recognition as the winner of the "Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taishō" (Next Manga Awards) in August 2020.
