Tales of Berseria takes place in Glenwood, a continent located far from Zestiria's world. The story unfolds on Midgand, an expansive kingdom with multiple islands and archipelagos. Despite its size, the northern region experiences harsher weather conditions due to recent snowstorms. As a result, seaborne trade is limited to well-known paths that are constantly plagued by pirates. Three years ago, a disease called Daemonblight struck the land, causing people to transform into demons and leading to an era of chaos. Despite this, Velvet, the protagonist, lived with her family in relative comfort in a remote region of Midgand. One fateful night, while under the light of a red moon, she was betrayed by Artorius, who had once saved her life. This led to the loss of her loved ones and the possession of an unknown power that consumed demons in her left arm. Afterward, order returned to the world with the founding of the Abbey and the Exorcists, but Velvet harbored only anger towards Artorius, who was hailed as a savior by many.

Tales of Berseria was published in English by Kodansha Comics USA from November 19, 2019 to April 28, 2020.
