Belca Noctircus, the third prince of the royal family in Noctircus, was born to a commoner mother and a king father. He is the son of a commoner and the King of Noctircus. As the third prince, he is next in line for the throne after his older brothers. After returning from abroad, Belca's brother Hector, the crown prince of Noctircus, announced his intention to establish peace with the Amonel, a race often considered monstrous but recently revealed to be mysterious and mortal. However, Hector died shortly thereafter from a chronic disease.
Belca and Orcelito, Belca's older brother, discovered that their brother's death was not natural and nearly cost them their lives. They were saved by Eco, a wandering bard/scholar who happened upon the scene. Meanwhile, Orcelito was taken captive by Lagen, whose son locked him up and manipulated him to do things according to Lagens wishes.
