In a world where animals have anthropomorphic features, there's a common belief among herbivores that carnivores are just mindless predators. However, when an alpaca named Tem gets murdered at Cherryton High School, the fear of carnivores reaches its peak. Legosi, a gray wolf student at this school, is awkward despite his intimidating appearance. When chaos disrupts his life, he must confront the division between herbivores and carnivores, as well as his own role in society. This becomes more complicated when Legosi develops romantic feelings for a herbivore, which may not be what they appear to be. Beastars portrays Legosi's struggle with internal conflicts while living in an unforgiving world where carnivores are often stigmatized.
