Morimi Tomihiko is an acclaimed Japanese author who was born on January 6th, 1979. After completing his studies at Kyoto University with a degree in agriculture, he made Kyoto his home and the majority of his works are set there. Despite many of his main characters being unremarkable college students, Morimi's writing style is vibrant and refined. His novels often fall under the category of magical realism fiction. His books have gained immense popularity among young people, particularly among university students. In 2003, he was awarded the 15th Japan Fantasy Novel Award for his novel Taiyou no Tou. Additionally, in 2006, Morimi was nominated for the prestigious Seiun Prize for his work Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei, which later became an animated television series in 2010. On January 6th, 2009, Morimi married.
