Taiju Ooki has been holding onto his feelings for five years and is now ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. However, just as he begins his confession, a blinding green light strikes Earth, turning every human into stone. Several millennia later, Taiju awakens in a world where civilization has disappeared, but nature has flourished. He encounters only one other living person: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Senkuu's grand plan is to revive civilization with science, and Taiju's brawn and Senkuu's brains combine to create a formidable partnership. They discover a method to bring back the petrified humans. However, Senkuu's master plan faces challenges when his ideologies are questioned by those who have awakened. The reason for mankind's petrification remains unknown.
