Motosuke Takahashi, born January 11, 1941 in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, was an animator, character designer, and director who made significant contributions to the Japanese animation industry. After completing his high school education at Miyagi-ken Ishinomaki High School, Takahashi enrolled at Nippon Design College but did not graduate. He then joined Tatsunoko Production in August 1966 as a designer in their advertising department and later became a professional animator. In 1975, he left Tatsunoko to become a freelance animator and character designer. Many of his works were produced for Sunrise anime. Takahashi founded Studio Dootaku (スタジオドオタク) in 1979 and served as its representative director until his death on November 8, 2007.
