The United States has been experiencing turmoil since the emergence of an alien species known as D2s, which originated from a meteorite that landed on Earth. To prevent further harm caused by their hatred for music, a law was passed banning citizens from playing any melodies. This ban is still in effect today, in 2047. The only defense against the D2s are Musicarts, young women who represent classical pieces of music, and Conductors, those who control them. Takt Asahina, a piano prodigy, becomes a Conductor after an unexpected attack by the D2s. This incident also leads him to meet his Musicart, Destiny, and Anna Schneider's sister, Cosette. The trio embarks on a dangerous journey to New York City to stabilize their pact with each other and reach the Symphonica Headquarters. Takt is eager to play the piano again, but his passion for music attracts the D2s he despises. Meanwhile, Destiny's sense of duty puts the group in danger as they navigate a path infested with D2s and face numerous obstacles. Will the trio make it safely to New York City?
Takt Op. Destiny is a mixed-media project centered on classical music, created by Bandai Namco Arts and DeNA. Under the same umbrella, a Japanese RPG for smartphones is being developed by Game Studio. The game, titled Takt Op. Unmei wa Akaki Senritsu no Machi o, was made available for pre-registration in March 2021 and is expected to be released by the end of the same calendar year.
