At Anime Expo 2025, Crunchyroll unveiled a new trailer for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End's second season of television anime. Additionally, it was announced that Crunchyroll will broadcast the second season globally except in Asia (including India and its subcontinent). In the trailer, new staff members for the second season were introduced.
The TV show "The Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" had its premiere on September 29, 2023 as a special two-hour episode. This is the first time that a television anime series has been shown in NTV's "Kinyō Roadshow," which typically features movies on Friday evenings. Following the special episode, the series began airing regularly on October 6 at 11:00 p.m. JST in NTV's new "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT" time slot. The first season of "The Frieren" ran for two quarters (half of a year) until March 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it was being broadcast, and it is also currently streaming an English dubbed version of the show.
Viz Media has licensed the manga, and it describes the story:
The adventure is over but life goes on for an elf mage just beginning to learn what living is all about. Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. But Frieren will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to understand what life means to the people around her? Decades after their victory, the funeral of one her friends confronts Frieren with her own near immortality. Frieren sets out to fulfill the last wishes of her comrades and finds herself beginning a new adventure…
