In Neo Kyoto, success in life is determined by a card game called "Build Divide." This game is used to resolve personal conflicts and determine social status. The ultimate goal for every player is to become the King, who has complete control over the city. One day, Teruto Kurabe wakes up with only his name and a deck of cards he doesn't recognize. He meets Sakura Banka, who helps him remember how to play Build Divide and his original mission: to meet the King. Together, they decide that their best chance for an audience with the King is through the Rebuild tournament, where the winner can challenge the King for the throne. However, as Teruto continues to play, he starts regaining lost memories that question the nature of Neo Kyoto itself.
