In modern times, animal-shaped combat mechs known as Zoids are no longer used in warfare but instead compete in organized sporting events. A struggling Blitz Team of Zoid pilots seeks to establish themselves in the battling leagues when they encounter Bit Cloud, a wandering junk dealer who proves adept at piloting the temperamental Liger Zero. With Bit and the Liger leading the way, the team rises through the ranks, attracting unwanted attention from the Backdraft Group, an organization of Zoid pilots operating outside legal boundaries. The Backdraft covets powerful Zoids like the Liger Zero for their own nefarious purposes.
