The takakura family's destiny is like a spinning wheel that guides them through life with equal parts joy and sorrow. with their parents gone, twin brothers kanba and shouma care for their little sister himari, who suffers from poor health. on the day she is allowed to leave the hospital, they take her to the aquarium to celebrate. however, fate intervenes when himari collapses there. but, a penguin hat from the souvenir shop revives her. this miraculous recovery comes at a cost as a new entity appears within her body that prevents her fate from manifesting. to keep their sister safe, the boys embark on a quest to find the "penguin drum," which they must follow through threads of fate leading them back to their own past and into other wishmakers' lives who also seek the drum.
