While riding the bus one day, sakura observes people being consumed by a blazing blue fire and an unharmed boy her age standing nearby. the following day, she returns to the scene but finds no evidence of murder or corpses; only a small flame remains. in class, she discovers a new transfer student, oogami rei, who resembles the boy from before and wears a black glove on his left hand. as a code breaker, he follows the principle of "an eye for an eye" and uses evil to combat evil. despite her conviction that killing is wrong, sakura resolves to confront oogami and warm his cold heart.
