Aragne: Sign of Vermillion, アラーニェの虫籠

The life of shy and anxious university student Rin could be improved significantly. Although the apartment she rented appeared to be a sunny palace based on rental listings, it turned out to be in a rundown, grim, and haunted housing complex with troubled souls lurking in dark corners. Additionally, there have been ghastly crimes committed in the vicinity. To make matters worse, an unsettling stranger appeared, adding to Rin's discomfort. However, things took a sinister turn when Rin realized that something more malevolent was manifesting itself at the intersection of mythology, monstrosity, and medical science. Driven by curiosity, she visited the library and encountered a sympathetic young staffer. However, what she learned did not ease her mind.

Aragne no Mushikago made its premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival in July 2018 before being screened in Japan.
