Three years ago, a race of interdimensional beings known as the disas arrived and destroyed everything they could reach on earth. the only hope for humanity's survival was through magical girls who formed an alliance with the spirit realm to fight back against the disas. after a violent conflict, the squad emerged victorious, becoming known as the "magical five." however, after the war ended, the magical five disbanded, and each member went their separate ways. asuka ootorii retired and became a high school student, while kurumi mugen, mia cyrus, tamara volkova, and lau peipei continued with their own military services. but peace was short-lived as it seemed there were survivors on the enemy's side. as magic must be fought with magic, asuka was drawn back into combat to face an even greater threat.
