In the school science lab, Makoto Mizuhara is working on his latest experiment when Katsuhiko Jinnai appears and attempts to destroy the device, discredit Makoto, and overload the experiment. This results in the transport of Makoto, Jinnai, Nanami, and Mr. Fujisawa to El Hazard, a magnificent world filled with wonders. Upon landing in Roshtaria's Kingdom, Makoto and Mr. Fujisawa quickly befriend Princess Rune Venus. Meanwhile, Jinnai allies himself with the Bugrom, giant insects seeking to take over El Hazard, while Nanami struggles to survive in the desert. Makoto searches for a way home, fighting off the Bugrom, enlisting the help of Holy Priestesses, and stopping Ifurita from destroying everything.
